I can feel the holiday mood in the air. You ask, already? I know we still have a week left, but I feel celebration is in the head. And for us, it starts off early December because the son’s birthday falls a week before Christmas and we are busy planning the party, getting gifts, etc. We like to make a big deal out of it. With the malls decked up pretty, and the lights/wreaths adorning store fronts (big and small), along the road, we know it’s the holiday season. I spend a lot of time gazing what is on display…

Have you ever felt like you wanted a wand to rewind time to a point – sort of as in “Back to the Future” movie to do things differently so that the outcome is different? Be it career, relationships, parenting, or in my case today, the purchases I make for the home. How trivial, you think? Well, the thought of a second chance is comforting that perhaps everything will pan out better (than before) in the end. At the risk of repeating myself, I’m describing my living room again. The living room is west-facing, sports a double-height ceiling, and opens…

Golden votives and glittering runners come out during Diwali. Scented candles and fragrant potpourri adorn the tables during Christmas. Our homes look and feel good; this rubs on our moods and the environment is exuberant. Why can’t this celebration last forever? Think about it; the decor is in our control. How about carefully curating pieces that can be a part of your styling all through the year. I came across this site called “Bubble Wrap” that has tastefully selected decor, lighting, and home linen products. Not overwhelming in making a choice. I like this kind of shopping. I put together five…

Ah-choo, Ah-choo! Is it in the air, or are the allergens cocooned in your bed sheets? The bedroom is also your private sanctuary; one that must reflect your tastes; one where can you indulge in the pleasures of life; that one place where how you feel takes precedence over appearance. Yes, looks matter less as this space is not on display. It’s also that one place where you can loosen your purse strings to choose items that pamper your senses. Like good scented candles, a satin bedsheet, a beautiful throw. It’s a double whammy when the linen is non-allergenic and…

This post is sponsored by WallArt. Can you choose a theme for this room above? Perhaps, NO. Because, is it modern? Yes. Rustic? Yes. Vintage? Yes. There are beautifully chosen hints that define every theme you can think of in this little corner. Yet, they all complement each other like hand in glove. Another brilliant illustration of the concept is replayed in the corner below weaving another story. The versatile 3D wall art is the common string tying the two rooms bringing in that element of freshness, that WOW factor.  This got me thinking into a wall makeover. The picture…

I’m sure you’ve noticed a flurry of posts centered around the bohemian theme. It took immense self-control to shake the bohemian fever grappling me. But, I guess I’m not done. When I spotted this brand called Bohemiana on Pepperfry, I just couldn’t control myself making it the theme for this Friday Shopping post. So here we go folks. Why hold back..it’s the festive season after all and we are allowed to go overboard with colors. For all you know, you may get into the mood for some weekend DIY after looking at these pieces. The picks are so diverse that…

If you had INR 95,000 to set up a guest room, what would you add to your cart to make the room functional and aesthetic? Check out my list. We live in an era where we understand and appreciate the merits of shopping online – be it for our personal wardrobe or taking it as far as setting up a whole home. The convenience of comparing prices, designs, returns if it doesn’t match our preferences or dimensions are unparalleled. I wanted to illustrate how to set up a guest bed room in less than INR 95,000. This is more along…

The festive season has officially begun with Ganesh Chaturthi. It’s incredible how the streets don a new avatar in the festive season with a heady mix of colors from violets and pinks to yellows and oranges. You feel like you can’t have enough! The festive season also marks the shopping season in many ways..so here I’m back this Friday with seven absolutely beautiful finds for your kitchen — all under a humble budget of Rs.500. Thrown in the mix are also some pieces that I found irresistible, but they didn’t make it to to the list as the price overshot…

This is my double-height living room. The living sports a high ceiling and is flanked by floor to ceiling full-length windows on opposite sides. I have been looking for a pendant lamp to light up this space. Most homes either have a chandelier or LEDs strips running along the false ceiling. Both do not work here as there is no false ceiling and I don’t want to spend a fortune on a lamp. The ceiling is over 20 feet tall and the room as you can see is minimally decorated with hints of ethnic elements. There is no dearth of…
