2010 was the year of Facebook. Many use to find friends but you know what there are hundred others – smart entrepreneurs out there who use FB to run and promote home-run businesses. Tapping into one’s immediate social circle and using it to grow exponentially happens far more easily than in the real world. Sanskriti is one such home-run business.
Started by Nandita Agarwal in Dec 2010. She runs the ethnic home furnishings store out of her Mumbai home. Nandita is a textile graduate who has toiled for years in the garment industry. She decided it was time to put her experience and expertise to use. And Sanskriti was born. I personally love the name Sanskriti.
When I asked her about what kind of customers she was targeting she said, “My target customers are anyone and everyone who look for something unique and appreciate quality – in India or abroad. People who want to do trousseau shopping for weddings, corporate gifting, or generally to spruce up the look and feel of their own houses. As of now I am not taking custom orders, but they are on the horizon. I am working to establish an appropriate supply chain (one step at a time).”
As of now, Sanskriti deals in silk table runners, cushion cover sets, bed sheets and gift boxes.
Shall we let the pictures do the talking now?
This captivating, asymmetrical face cushion made me do the post on Sanskriti. Isn’t it a show stopper?
The products are designed by Nandita as well as sourced from across the country. Turquoise is my favorite color and if I were to buy one product from Sanskriti, it would be this bed spread.
They don’t accept customer orders now but it’s definitely in the offing later on. All the best Nandita for a successful venture.
